Do you ever listen to a song and it makes you feel like everything's just gonna work out fine, regardless of what's going on in your life? I mean even if everything's fine, the song just reassures that sense. I enjoy when this happens.

Man, I haven't done this in a long ass time. I guess I feel now that I have my website (www.geocities.com/dbavrob) people can just look at that and know what's going on in my life. But then again, pictures can lie. I don't know what that's supposed to mean.
I guess my life has changed a bit since my last updates, but not really. Let's review.
-Living in New York City is so awesome. I can't even explain. I don't think I would ever want to live anywhere else. I'm most likely getting an apartment here with Zach over the summer, so I'm just going to live here forever.
-I don't know if this will happen, but imagine if i never go back home? Could I really have left home forever? That is crazy to think about. It's also very possible. I mean, I've come to realize that the only thing I really like about home is all my friends being there. So they should all just move here, and everything will be the best.
-I've grown really close with all the city kids, as expected. They are all awesome. Not only have I gotten to know kids better, but I've also met tons of new awesome people.
-I've met cool people at SVA too. None that skate though, so I still spend way more time with the city homies.
-My roomate is the man. We get along amazingly well. I think the ideal situation is to have a roomate who's real cool and you're really chill with, but not neccesarily really good friends, because then you have your own shit, your own schedule. I dunno. It works real well.
-With finals coming up, I have tons of work. The workload has been relatively mellow all year, and now it's finally piling up.
-It's awesome that I see almost all of my really good friends so much still. I mean I've probably seen Roesch all but like 4 weekends since I've been here, cause either he's in here or I go out there. I've been down to Philly twice, those guys have been up here a bunch, etc. The only dudes I never see are Ferrer, James, Keith, Stinch and obviously Vogel.
-SPREZZATURA has gotten so much better since I've been here. I've gotten so much footy here it's ridiculous. So many new parts. Plus ill new editing techniques being applied.
-I've been filming a ton with Matt Rzeszutko, who's sponsored, so I'm gonna have some shit in bigger videos, which is so awesome. I hope this connection really helps me out. That would be the absolute sickest ever.
-I'm single now, as if anyone didn't know that. But it's cool. I mean I haven't really been single since I was 16, fall of junior year. I suppose it is nice not to have anyone to answer to except myself. I try to think positively about all these things. Plus Al and I are still good friends. So things is good.
-On top of finals and working on Sprezz, I also have Christmas present creating going on as well. Hectic!!
-I've seen several concerts, all which were very good. Rilo Kiley with Tilley and the Wall in Philly, Interpol here in NY, and Modest Mouse also here. It was wierd seeing Modest play at Radio City Music Hall. But I love them too much to really complain
-I think Zach and his girlfriend and I are going to see "Life Aquatic" tommorow, cause it opens early in NY. That should be very cool.
I suppose that brings us up to date. Maybe I will do this more often now. But probably not. See ya. |

OK, here's a more detailed college update. My roommate is a cool guy, he’s funny, but in a quiet weird sort of way. I’m just realizing that he’s funny. We don’t really hang out outside of the dorm, but that will probably change as the year goes on. I’ve been hanging out with Zach a lot and the city kids. I don’t start classes until the 7th, which is Tuesday, so I have tons of free time. I’ve been skating for most of that time, and today I went on a solo-exploring mission around the neighborhood. Alex Roesch is coming into the city in two weekends, and I think I’m going to Philly the weekend after that. In short, everything is the best. |

So as school i starting again, it's time to take up the time-honored tradition of bloggingggg... so here we go
I moved into my room today. I was lucky and got here early, cause it was a nightmare. After my Dad left I went to get some breakfast/lunch with good old Zach with an H.
by 1, we were on our way to meet up with Clark and Galvin to skate Flushing. There were crazy protests going on the city all day because of the Republican National Convention this week.
So we met up with those guys at Flushing. It was super sick, I had lots of fun there. The grate gap is sick.
Later, we had dorm meetings and stuff. Zach and I weren’t feeling too social, so we skipped out on the tours of the nighborhood, and went and got pizza and skated the sickest bank ever that’s like 4 blocks form our dorm. I’ll post pictures of it tomorrow, cause we gotta go back and film. More details on college tomorrow. I AM TIRED. |
